Scrapbook Pages

First of all, I am not a Stampin' Up or Close to My Heart demonstrator, but thanks to my friend, Annie, and my brother, Shane, I do enjoy using their products.

Secondly, I realize that I am not a professional scrapbook artist, however, I take joy in putting together pages for my family to look at and reminisce .

Here are just a few of my favorite pages created with pics from our family photo shoot...

I think this quote is appropriate for an opening page.

A brother is... (Casey/left and Chase/right)

Casey looking out for his brother Cody. I think Matthew 25:40 is more than appropriate here.

Blue Jeans and Coca-Cola. Yep, that's us!

I placed this page toward the end of the scrapbook.

Changing Priorities

One of my dearest friends Annie over at Adventures in Oz wrote a post that included a video by Steven Covey. As I watched the video, I realized that this is how I feel about blogging. I love, love, LOVE blogging, but sometimes I let it come before the important things in my life. I enjoy staying connected to my blogging friends all over the world, but realize that I have relationships right here around me that could use a little nurturing.

Annie asked me a thought provoking question yesterday. She said, "Have you thought about what you'd like to leave behind for your children and grandchildren when you're gone?" Then she got me thinking maybe, just maybe, I could make quilts and scrapbooks for them, both hobbies that I enjoy but have fallen by the wayside.

Since I'm on the morbid subject of dying, I definitely need to make exercise and eating healthy a higher priority (click here and here), or I might not even be around long enough to meet those future grandchildren.

My point is, I will keep reading your wonderful blogs and writing my own posts. I just may not be able to do it every day, because I have to take care of the big rocks first. No comprende? Watch the video...

Combining Scrapbooking with Journaling

This is a fun idea for a scrapbook page, wall hanging, or whatever you can dream up.
Have a third party ask you and your significant other (separately) the following questions:

1) What attracted you to your partner?

2) What does she or he do that makes you laugh?

3) Where was your first date?

4) What has your mate said about you that surprised or flattered you?

5) Was is love at first sight or a friendship that blossomed?

6) How do you settle your differences?

7) Do you agree on the temperature in the house?

8) Who in his/her family adds the most to your relationship?

9) What holiday requires the most compromise?

10)What gift did he/she give you that meant the most?

This is just to give you a basic idea. You could also interview your parents, aunts and uncles, or grandparents. Have fun with it! There can be so much more to scrapbooking than just slapping photos onto cute paper :)
