Reading Momentum this morning, a magazine published by the Multiple Sclerosis Society, I came across a website that I had never heard of. It's called Caring Bridge, and is a place online where you can post health updates to keep family and friends informed. I scoped the website out and found myself wishing it would had been available back in 1994, when Don and I spent the better part of six months in and out of hospitals with Cody.
Those of you, who have family members with health issues, may want to take a look at Caring Bridge and see if it is a support that can be beneficial to you. Here is the link. Check it out!

I Almost Got Arrested
I spent a good deal of time with Casey yesterday. He works for a major drug store chain and was telling me about some robberies that had taken place at various stores.
Sooo...last night I dreamt that I was at Walgreen's walking around in my robe. I came to a corner in the back of the store where the pain relievers were and noticed a red sale tag displayed on the bottom shelf near the ibuprofen. I bent over to see what the price was, and my robe (the tie at the waist type) started to come open. I stood up, untied my robe and cinched it back up tight. Almost immediately, I realized it was a stupid thing to do. It probably appeared that I was trying to shop lift.
Sure enough, two security guards approached me and told me they knew I put something inside my robe. I tried to assure them I hadn't, but they were not convinced. They lead me to a back room, where I had to wait for a female officer to come and search me.
Then I woke up.

Baby Girl Diaper Cake
Other than the fact that I forgot to bring my Nikon and had to use the camera on my stupid phone (as opposed to smart phone), my niece's baby shower was a great success. I am convinced that open house style is the way to go!
My sister and I are not professional artists, but trust me when I say everything was adorable. The house was decorated in the same pink and green hues used in our invitations. We served Rice Kripsy treats and chocolate covered pretzels, both with pink sprinkles, deli sandwiches, a vegetable tray, pink lemonade with floating limes and diaper shaped party favors filled with Hershey Kisses.
I only managed to get onestupid, pathetic, way too dark, blurry, half-way decent picture of the diaper cake my sister and her daughters made. Sorry.

I only managed to get one
Use your imagination. It was cute! There are hair clips and pacifiers and other things on the cake that can't be seen in this picture.

Baby Stats Questionnaire for Baby Shower Open House
My sister and I are throwing an open house baby shower this week-end. We sent out the cutest invitations that I custom ordered from Little Bean Designs on Etsy .
I was very happy with her work! She finished my order quickly and I highly recommend her.
Since it's hard to play games at an open house, my sister and I came up with the following Baby Stats Questionnaire for guests to fill out while they socialize.
When the shower's all said and done, my niece will have a cute little book of stats and well wishes for a keepsake. :)

My First Estate Sale Purchase
Don, Katelyn and I stumbled upon an estate sale a couple of weeks ago and picked up this brand new, Oster bread machine for $15.00...
The never used, small appliance worked like a charm.
It may not be the prettiest loaf of bread you've ever seen, but...
...it sure did taste good. :)

Cooling Off a Hot Dog
It's blasted hot here and Don is going to great lengths to keep our dog cool.
He hosed her down, moved things around on the patio, found a fan and an old water mister in our garage and rigged it up to blow on her. Now, that is love!

"Smokin' Hot" Fourth of July Gift
Over the years, Katelyn has enjoyed making creative things for her boyfriends. In fact, her Apology Basket has been a big hit on Pinterest. Yesterday afternoon, after visiting the firework stand, Katelyn put together this little patriotic gift...
