Predictably Unpredictable

I hate snail mail. Not only do I rarely have anything fun or exciting in my mailbox, but the pile of envelopes and whatnot ends up all over my kitchen counter.

This morning I decided to go through some old mail I had stashed away in one of my kitchen cabinets (out of sight, out of mind). As I began ripping up receipts/papers that were obviously no longer needed, Cody freaked out...in a good way.

He asked me what I was doing, so I told him, "I'm ripping paper. Do you want to help?" Usually, when I invite him to do something out of the ordinary, he will tell me "No." Today was an exception. He said "Yes!"

Below is a pic of him thoroughly enjoying himself. Who knew?

It looks like Cody's going to get a new chore.

Comedians, Garbage Cans, Cable Install Men and Cody

Monday night is trash night and in case you didn't already know, Cody loves taking the garbage can out to the curb. See the following posts:

Working Hard or Hardly Working?

and

Absolute Garbage!

Last night, however, we ran into a bit of a problem. When Cody wanted his dad to help him with this "chore", there was a man installing cable at the end of our driveway, right where the trash can needed to go.

Don told Cody, "We can't take the trash out until the cable guy is out of our way." Don then went out in the backyard to water the garden. About ten minutes later, Don came back inside and Cody said, "Dad. What's Larry doing?"

Get it?

Larry...

The Cable Guy.

Working Hard or Hardly Working?

Cody has two jobs that he does around the house, take the trash can to the curb and unload the dishwasher. I should let you know however, that Cody's idea of "unloading the dishwasher" is to open it when it beeps and feel the steam on his face (as seen in the picture below).
