How to Clean Up Your Email Inbox in 3 Easy Steps

I just learned how to create folders in my email program and, for the first time in years, my inbox is empty! It's such a great feeling that I want to share it with those of you (especially among my generation) who may not know how.

1st- Delete all of your crap email. I know you have some. Everybody does.

2nd- Set up folders in the left window of your computer by labeling them according to your needs. For example- Bills to Pay, Receipts, Call, Read, Reply, Important Documents, Etc.

3rd- Drag each email to it's appropriate folder.

There you go. No more scrolling and, if you're a little OCD like me, you will feel much better.

A Beautiful Mess

Before beginning an essay for one of her college classes, Katelyn came to me and said, "This is my attempt to get organized. Do you have any other ideas?"

Scary.

Funny thing is, regardless of her lack of organization, the girl shines! I love her.

Gift Wrap Bucket

A couple of years ago, my mom and her husband made gift buckets for their daughters and daughters-in-law and gave them to us on Thanksgiving Day. At that time, the buckets were full of Christmas wrapping paper, gift tags, Scotch tape, ribbon, scissors and other supplies. Because I am a bit of a Christmas freak, I put my bucket to good use that year.

Since then, I use my bucket to hold a variety of wrapping paper, gift bags, tissue and other items necessary for gift giving. I love it, not only because I have everything at my fingertips when I'm in a hurry to wrap a present, but because it takes up minimal space and it is portable!

If you are interested in making a gift bucket for yourself, Martha Stewart has a great tutorial and video reference on her website.

Possible Passion for Pinterest

Thanks to the girls at Carolina HeartStrings I am now a member of Pinterest.

Pinterest, an online pinbaord that allows you to organize and share all of the things you love, has taken a distinctive approach to get people interested in the site – you have to be invited to participate. You can request an invitation right on the site, but it takes a long time before you will get one. You are better off doing what I did and ask a friend who is already on Pinterest to send you an invitation.

If Pinterest sounds like something you would be interested in, the following link will take you to Pleasant Home, one of my favorite blogs, where you can pick up some great tips and pointers:
