#1- I rarely find anything worth having.
#2- I usually leave slathering my hands with sanitizer and feeling like I have lice in my hair (psychological, I know).
My last visit to the thrift store proved satisfactory, however. I found the vintage game Probe.
In the 1980's, Don and I use to play this game at my aunt and uncle's house.
Probe is a great word game, kind of like Hang Man meets Scrabble. Each person chooses a secret word and writes it in their word tray.
Everyone tries to guess each other's words, accumulating points as one letter after another is exposed.
This particular game is in excellent condition. It even came with plenty of the original paper inserts.
Have any of you ever found hella good deals at a thrift store?

I LUV second hand stores! I can get "lost" in one for hours, especially in the book section...(ok, you're saying that if I can be in a Wal-mart for 5 hours straight...getting lost in a "thrift" store isn't a surprise)
GREAT find for you!!

I have never found a good deal at a thrift store. I know people who do all the time and then I go and look and nothing!!!!! I don't go often. I remember taht game and loved it!!! Lucky find.
I'm not big on thrifting either. There is a big splash here right now because they just opened the first Savers store here in my town. I kinda remember them from when I lived in Cali, but I've never been to one. On a side note, I'm guessing that that game was discontinued just because of it's name. Probe....ew.
I get Lego's from there. I douse them in a 50/50 water/bleach solution before I let the kids near them. It's about the only thing I go in for...and I totally feel like I need a Silkwood shower when I come out of there!
Annie- I never want to shop with you at a thrift store or Wal-Mart...UNLESS you're pumping me full of diet coke and sugar, then...maybe ;)
carolinaheartstrings- Birds of a Feather...
Lynn- I've never been in a Savers and I thought about the 'Probe' name too.
Lizbeth- Haha. I forgot all about the movie Silkwood.
